Description

The City of Oxford, Mississippi, is seeking proposals for a Flood Threat Recognition System (FTRS) to monitor six stream locations within the city. The project includes equipment for rainfall and water-level monitoring, flow-velocity measurement, telemetry, solar power, battery backup, cloud-based monitoring, data storage, and automated alert notifications. The selection process will be based on technical approach, vendor qualifications and experience, price and long-term cost, product availability, implementation schedule, cloud platform and alerting capabilities, installation approach, support services, and proposal responsiveness. • The project is funded in whole or in part through the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Emergency Management Agency Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, HMGP Project DR-4576-0030-F. • Proposals will be evaluated using a best-value selection process. • Minority and women’s business enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to inquire about potential subcontracting opportunities and equipment, materials, and/or supply needs. • RFP documents may be obtained at www.oxfordmsbids.com.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The estimated budget for this project is between $500,000 and $2,000,000. This estimation is based on the scope of the project, which includes the installation of monitoring equipment and notification services for six stream locations, as well as the provision of cloud-based monitoring, data storage, and automated alert notifications. The cost of the equipment, software, and services required to implement the FTRS will likely be the main factors influencing the budget. Additionally, the project's 10-year duration, which includes annual telemetry and cloud-based services, may also impact the overall cost.
