Intent to sole-source to LEEDS Precision Instruments, Inc.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking to sole-source a contract to LEEDS Precision Instruments, Inc. for the maintenance and repair of microscopes used in the Terrorist Explosive Device Analytical Center (TEDAC). The contract will include annual servicing of the microscopes to maintain ISO 17025 accreditation. The FBI has determined that LEEDS Precision Instruments, Inc. is the only vendor capable of meeting the Government's requirements due to their unique qualifications and specialized capabilities. • The contract will be for a period of 3 years • The microscopes are used for forensic examinations of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) • The contract will include on-site installation and training, as well as warranty and non-warranty service • The FBI has conducted market research and determined that LEEDS Precision Instruments, Inc. is the only source capable of meeting the Government's requirements
