6515--Planmeca Dental X-Ray Intent to Sole Source

The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a sole source contract to Planmeca for the Planmeca ProMax 3D Plus. The objective of this action is to provide installation for existing Planmeca equipment. The contract will be a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract. • The contract is for a brand name only procurement due to the requirement for compatibility. • Market research was conducted, and Planmeca is the only vendor authorized to provide installation. • The Veterans Health Administration prohibits the use of gray market items in their Medical Centers. • Capability statements can be submitted by responsible sources, but the determination not to compete the contract is at the discretion of the Government.
