Maintenance & Repair of Vertical Conveyance Systems

The City of Tucson is seeking proposals for a comprehensive preventive maintenance and repair program for Vertical Conveyance Systems (VCS), elevators, material handling units, and chair lifts. The program should include routine preventive maintenance, annual and five-year testing of elevators, and full-time monitoring of elevator emergency communication. The contractor will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment operates in a continual and optimal manner, minimizing down-time due to mechanical failure, and maintaining all units in compliance with regulatory requirements. Some key aspects of the scope of work include: • Monthly site visits to each unit and mechanical room by a fully trained and qualified Contractor Technician • Visual inspection of units, equipment, and components • Testing of units, equipment, and components as appropriate for a comprehensive preventive maintenance service • Performance of maintenance procedures and techniques, such as calibration, adjustments, lubrication, or repair and replacement of equipment and components • Documenting procedures performed via an on-site maintenance log book at each site • Verbal and written consultation, briefing, advise, and/or recommendations by the Contractor to the City as appropriate and necessary to inform the City of the condition, maintenance, and recommended course of action to ensure the optimal operation of the units
