The City of Asheville is seeking pre‑qualified trade and specialty contractors to bid on multiple packages for the renovation of the Malvern Hills Park‑Pool. Harper General Contractors will act as the Construction Manager @ Risk and will award individual trade contracts after the pre‑qualification phase. The scope spans demolition, concrete, masonry, structural steel, waterproofing, doors & hardware, windows, metal stud framing, drywall, flooring, painting, pool‑specific systems, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and low‑voltage work. Contractors must hold a valid North Carolina contractor’s license and meet Chapter 87 statutory requirements. Packages valued under $200,000 do not require bonds; larger aggregate bids will trigger bond requirements for each trade. The pre‑qualification deadline is July 31 2026, with bid issuance anticipated in August and construction slated to start in October 2026. MWBE firms are encouraged to apply and may request bi‑weekly joint‑check payment assistance.
