Description
The project involves the proper abandonment of existing septic tanks serving residences, including pumping and disposing of septic tank contents, crushing and filling the tank with approved material, and removing or permanently capping all inlet and outlet piping in accordance with applicable local and state health and environmental regulations. The contractor is responsible for obtaining all required permits and securing approvals from the County’s permitting departments. All work will be coordinated with the homeowner and County as needed and will continue through the successful operation of the grinder pump system.
• The project is funded by Federal funds from the State Reserve Program grant as part of the American Rescue Plan Act and by Brunswick County funds.
• The total contract amount will be based on the actual services performed and quantities of installations and connections completed.
• The project must be completed within 150 days from the Notice to Proceed issued by Brunswick County, but in no event later than October 30, 2026.
• Liquidated damages will be in the amount of $1,000 per day for each calendar day beyond the Substantial Completion date.
