The National Park Service intends to award a single source justified cooperative agreement to the University of California, Santa Barbara for a geomorphic assessment of the Tuolumne River in Tuolumne Meadows, Yosemite National Park. The project aims to synthesize data from numerous disconnected studies to develop a scientifically robust narrative that identifies the current state of Tuolumne Meadows and the Tuolumne River, and provides a foundation for restoration goals and strategies. The key objectives of the project are to reconstruct the geomorphic history of Tuolumne Meadows, describe reference conditions, characterize altered geomorphic and biological processes, identify the causes of these changes, and recommend potential goals and strategies for ecological restoration.
• The project will advance through scientific collaboration between the National Park Service and the University of California, Santa Barbara.
