The US Navy is seeking information for the modernization and modification of the Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) Correlator System. The objectives of this procurement include implementing a state-of-the-art software-based VLBI capability, developing a software-based VLBI correlator capability, and procuring components for this correlator. The responses should address the company's capability statement, previous similar contracts or experience, and company information. • The VLBI Correlator System is used by the USNO to determine and predict the positions of celestial objects and Earth Orientation. • The system will take advantage of advances in electronic transmission of observational VLBI data over the Internet to enable near real-time operations. • The system will also develop a software-based VLBI correlator capability to process higher volumes of VLBI data from VGOS and next-generation VLBA systems. • The procurement will also include the delivery of components for this correlator consistent with new and updated DoN and USNO cyber requirements.
