Notice of Intent to Sole Source - Research Cattle

The United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Services (USDA-ARS) is issuing a Notice of Intent to Sole Source for the acquisition of 87 heads of cattle (calves) for research purposes. The cattle must meet specific requirements, including being between 300-450 pounds, steers and heifers, between 6-24 months, and having no prior exposure to cattle fever ticks. The preferred breed is Hereford, but Black Angus or Charolais may be acceptable if Hereford is unavailable. The cattle must come from within a 60-mile radius of Kerrville, TX.
