Notice of Intent to Sole Source for Coupled Device Detector Camera System

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from sources that may be capable of providing a coupled device detector camera system. The system should include an intensified electron multiplication charge coupled device (IEMCCD) camera and a control/data analysis software package. The camera must have ultra-low noise characteristics and a high gain. The software should be compatible with 64-bit Windows 10 and have various features such as selectable CCD or EMCCD mode of operation, amplifier gain/sensitivity, and sensor readout rates. Some key features of the camera include: • Back-illuminated, electron multiplication charge coupled device sensor type • Gen III intensifier type • Intensifier minimum gating time of 1 nanosecond or less • Phosphor type of P43 • Maximum equivalent background illuminance at room temperature of 0.3 electrons/pixel/sec • Quantum Efficiency at various wavelengths • Chip size of greater than or equal to 12.5 mm by greater than or equal to 12.5 mm • Pixel Format of greater than or equal to 1024 pixels by greater than or equal to 1024 pixels • Pixel Dimensions of less than or equal to 16 microns by less than or equal to 16 microns (square) • Digitization of greater than or equal to 16 bits • Selectable between CCD or electron multiplication CCD mode of operation • Electron multiplication gain of 1 to greater than or equal to 1000x • Sensor readout noise in EMCCD mode at 5 MHz of less than or equal to 60 electrons (root mean square) • Sensor readout noise in EMCCD mode at 10 MHz of less than or equal to 100 electrons (root mean square) • Sensor readout noise in CCD mode at 500 kHz of less than or equal to 10 electrons (root mean square) • Sensor readout noise in CCD mode at 5 MHz of less than or equal to 50 electrons (root mean square) • Sensor vertical shift rate of 4 microsecond/row or faster • Dark current at -20 degrees C of less than or equal to 3 electrons/pixel/second • Thermo-electric cooling with minimum sensor temperature of less than or equal to -20 degrees C (in 20 degrees C air) • Data transfer interface of High-speed interface such as USB 3.0 or Gigabit ethernet • High voltage pulser built in • Supplied with a 50 mm focal length, f/1.2 lens • Supplied with an adapter for F-mount lenses • Supplied with an adapter for C-mount lenses • Supplied with an adapter so as to permit the camera head to be mounted onto an Acton 2300i imaging spectrograph, an Acton 2500i imaging spectrograph, or an Acton 2500SP imaging spectrograph such that the camera focal plane and spectrograph focal plane can be made to overlap
