Canine Veterinary Services for the LAPD

The Los Angeles Police Department is seeking a qualified contractor to provide canine veterinary medical services for the Department's K-9 Platoons. The services include scheduled health examinations, shots, emergency and dental care, and priority treatment for the LAPD's dogs. The contractor must have experience caring for and treating service dogs, preferably with law enforcement agencies. The contractor must also have a minimum of one California licensed veterinarian and one Board Certified veterinarian technician on staff at all times. • The contractor must provide 24/7 emergency and routine medical services. • The contractor must keep the canine Officers-in-Charge and trainers apprised of all medical needs or concerns regarding the dogs. • The contractor must medically examine and evaluate all dogs considered for purchase or retirement by the LAPD. • The contractor must have a location within Los Angeles County. The evaluation criteria include general qualifications, adequacy of services, cost, and compliance with RFP requirements.
