Description
The National Weather Service (NWS) is seeking a contractor to provide snow removal services at the NWS Weather Forecast Office in Moon Township, PA. The contract will be for a base year with options for up to 4 additional years. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary labor, equipment, and materials to perform comprehensive snow removal services, including plowing, sanding, and salting. The contractor must also provide a site manager who will be the central point of contact with the government for performance of all work.
• The place of performance is the NWS Weather Forecast Office, 192 Shafer Road, Moon Township, PA 15108.
• The contract will be for a base year with options for up to 4 additional years.
• The contractor must provide all necessary labor, equipment, and materials to perform comprehensive snow removal services.
• The contractor must provide a site manager who will be the central point of contact with the government for performance of all work.
• The contractor must provide snow removal services when one inch of snow has fallen and continuously throughout the storm.
• The contractor must plow and/or salt/sand for any ice accumulation or when ice melts occur.
• The contractor must apply sand/salt mixture to streets and parking lots to aid in deicing and traction after completion of snow-removal operations.
• The contractor must make all effort to avoid spreading ground treatment(sand/salt/chemicals) onto adjacent landscaping and plants to avoid killing plant life.
