Green Pleasure Pier Deck Replacement Project

The City of Avalon is seeking qualified contractors to replace approximately 15,000 sq ft of deteriorated timber decking on the Green Pleasure Pier. The work includes removal of existing pressure‑treated 4″ × 10″ planks, installation of new pressure‑treated timber decking, and, if uncovered during demolition, repair or replacement of structural stringers and pile caps as directed by the City Engineer. The project must be performed in phases to maintain public access, and heavy equipment larger than a tele‑handler is prohibited unless an approved weight‑redistribution plan is submitted. Bidders must provide a 10 % bid bond, and the successful contractor will be required to furnish performance and labor‑and‑material payment bonds equal to 100 % of the contract price. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with a bid submission deadline of September 9, 2026 at 1 p.m. EDT.
