Parks Master Plan for Calaveras County

The County of Calaveras is seeking a consultant to prepare a comprehensive Parks, Facilities, and Recreation Master Plan. The plan will provide a strategic guide for ensuring an appropriate balance of facilities, services, and amenities throughout the community. The scope of work includes developing a system-wide approach for Parks and Recreation services, establishing goals, policies, guidelines, and strategies, and providing a framework for understanding the recreational and open space assets the County owns. The contract was awarded to O'Dell Engineering, and the County will commence negotiations for a Professional Services Agreement with them. • The plan will result in a valuable strategic guide and create a roadmap for ensuring an appropriate balance of facilities, services, and amenities throughout the community. • The plan will provide a better understanding of the current and future maintenance and improvement needs for the County’s parks and recreational facilities. • The plan will develop management strategies that deliver the established levels of service while managing individual facilities and assets in the most cost-effective manner possible. • The County intends to use the plan to communicate the improved understanding of the park and recreational facility needs with the public and County decision makers.
