The Puyallup School District invited proposals for a high-bandwidth fiber-optics-based Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) to connect its schools and support buildings. The contract was awarded to Unite Private Networks (UPN) for a 10-year term. The proposal included a 10 Gbit circuit and a 24-strand, diverse route connection between EdTec and Glacier View Junior High. The district sought two options for fiber bids, and respondents could bid on either or both options. The contract includes the cost of eligible services, cost of ineligible services, scalability, completeness of solution, and evaluation of vendor capabilities.
