Insurance Provider for International Student Health Insurance

California State University, Chico is seeking an insurance broker to provide a comprehensive and cost-effective insurance plan for international students and scholars. The selected plan will be utilized and paid for by the respective student populations. The university is transitioning from allowing international students and scholars to source and purchase their own health insurance to enrolling them in the selected plan. The contract is expected to start in the Spring 2023 term. Key aspects of the contract include: • The insurance plan must meet minimum insurance requirements. • The plan will be utilized and paid for by the respective student populations. • Continuing international students and scholars will be allowed to continue on their previous insurance plans if they choose, provided their plan meets minimum insurance requirements. • The contract is the result of a Request for Quote (RFQ) process. • The vendor to which the contract was awarded is Academic Health Plans, Inc.
