P-23008 JANITORIAL SERVICES FOR THE CENTRAL LAKEFRONT COMFORT STATIONS, BEACH HOUSES, AND SPECIAL USE FACILITIES

The Chicago Park District has awarded a contract for janitorial services for various comfort stations, beach houses, and special use facilities in the Central Lakefront area. The contract is for a two-year term with four additional one-year extension options. The awardees, Smith Maintenance Co. and Dust Em Clean Maintenance Company, Inc., will provide all equipment, fuel, labor, materials, transportation, vehicles, and any/all other services necessary to provide janitorial services in accordance with the terms and conditions of the specification. The contract has a total value of $1,504,521.64 for the initial two-year term. The services will include daily and monthly cleaning, deep cleaning, and special event services. The awardees will be required to provide a minimum of 50% of the work in the field with their own forces. • The contract includes five categories of services: Category A - Central Lakefront Comfort Stations and Beach Houses, Category B - Special Use Facilities - Seasonal, Category C - Special Use Facilities - Year Round, Category D - Special Use Facilities - As Needed/On Demand, and Category E - Special Use Facilities - Administrative Headquarters. • The awardees will be required to provide an updated list of personnel, including names, site assignments, shifts, supervisors, and substitutes. • The awardees will be required to submit a weekly staffing calendar for all staff working at CPD facilities. • The awardees will be required to provide electric or gas-powered vehicles for their personnel to use during the contract term. • The awardees will be required to provide an inventory list of vehicles to be used and plate numbers to CPD. • The CPD will work with the awardees on the storage of the awardees' vehicles used on the lakefront bike path.
