Lone Elm Road, Old 56 Highway to 151st Street Improvement Project

The City of Olathe, Kansas, Public Works Department is requesting qualified design firms to submit qualifications for the preparation of design documents for the Lone Elm Road, Old 56 Highway to 151st Street Improvement Project. The project will improve Lone Elm Road to a four-lane arterial section and include geometric improvements, storm sewer, lighting, bike lanes, landscaping, and sidewalks. The project will also include minor modifications to the existing bridge over the railroad. The scope of work includes survey of existing conditions, utility coordination, cost estimates, acquisition documentation, traffic counts, developing construction plans, coordination with utilities, the railroad, KDOT, and Olathe, assistance with bidding of projects for construction, and assistance as needed throughout construction. • The project has been selected to receive federal funding (STP) in 2020. • There is potential for bridge inspection services needed on this project. • The project will include survey of existing conditions, utility coordination, cost estimates, acquisition documentation, traffic counts, developing construction plans, coordination with utilities, the railroad, KDOT, and Olathe, assistance with bidding of projects for construction, and assistance as needed throughout construction.
