RFQ 194354 Traffic Network Communication Switch Replacement/Update

The City of Palo Alto's Office of Transportation is seeking to procure approximately 105 network switches to replace aging equipment at the City's signalized intersections. The goal is to ensure the continued reliability, security, and performance of the centralized traffic management system. The replacement of these switches is necessary to maintain secure and stable communications between field devices and the traffic management center, support real-time operations and system monitoring, and ensure compatibility with current and emerging Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) technologies. • The procurement includes the purchase, delivery, and installation of network communications switches at each intersection and primary management centers. • The City is seeking a vendor who can provide network edge switches, core switches, fiber optic network transceivers, and necessary hardware such as power supplies. • The vendor must also provide configuration and installation support by the manufacturer and authorized local support staff, as well as limited lifetime warranty and product support. • The City has secured regional grant funding to fully fund the hardware costs of this project. • The term of the pricing agreement shall be effective on the date of award and shall expire within 12 months, with the option to extend for one year.
