Boiler Replacement in Solids Handling

The City of Toledo, Department of Public Utilities / Division of Water Reclamation is seeking proposals for the replacement of up to four industrial boilers at the Bay View Water Reclamation Plant. The work includes the removal and proper disposal of existing boilers and the supply, installation, and integration of new high-efficiency, natural gas-fired boilers with the existing heating systems in both buildings. The contractor shall coordinate all work with Plant staff and the local authorized boiler dealer(s) to ensure that installation activities are performed properly, safely, efficiently, and without interruption to ongoing plant operations. • The contractor shall replace up to two existing boilers in the Laboratory Building and up to two existing boilers in the Sludge Dewatering Building with new, high-efficiency natural gas-fired units. • The contractor shall provide complete integration of the new boilers in both buildings with the existing piping, valves, electrical and controls, as required. • The contractor shall ensure all work complies with all applicable ASME, OSHA, and manufacturers standards. • The contractor shall coordinate all work with Plant staff to minimize disruption to plant operations. • The contractor shall test, commission, and verify that all new boiler systems operate properly and safely, and meet the performance requirements specified by Water Reclamation.
