Industry Day: Brand-New Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) and Terminal Radar Approach Control/Base Building (A11 TRACON) at the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport in Anchorage Alaska

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking qualified General Contractors for the construction of a new Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) and Terminal Radar Approach Control/Base Building (A11 TRACON) at the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport in Anchorage, Alaska. The project includes the construction of a 318-foot above ground level cast-in-place, post-tensioned concrete ATCT and a 40,000 SF two-story, steel-framed base building. The total gross area between the two structures is approximately 70,000 SF. The project also includes site work, parking lot, perimeter fence, and a new Fiber Optic Transmission System (FOTS) crossing multiple taxiways on the Air Operations Area. • The estimated cost of the project is between $200 million and $325 million. • The FAA is looking for contractors with experience in similar projects, including high-rise buildings and seismic design category D or higher. • The FAA is open to considering different contract types, including Firm Fixed Price (FFP) or Firm Fixed Price with Economical Price Adjustments (FFP-EPA). • The FAA is seeking feedback from contractors on various aspects of the project, including challenges, subcontracting, and small business goals.
