The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking a qualified Respondent to provide manned rotorcraft aerial services to support wildlife survey operations. The successful Service Provider shall furnish manned rotorcraft aerial services to support these surveys in various designated locations. Surveys are typically conducted at low altitudes and therefore require appropriately certified rotorcraft equipment and an experienced, properly licensed pilot.
• The contract will have an initial term of three years, with the option to renew for up to three additional years.
• The successful respondent will provide a turbine-powered rotorcraft and a pilot with a minimum of 200 hours of wildlife survey experience.
• The use of subcontractors will not be permitted under the awarded contract.
• Depending on the nature and objectives of each survey, single or multiple passengers may be required.
• The DNR intends to align the size—and corresponding cost—of the aircraft with the specific requirements of each survey to ensure operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
