Generator Replacement at Various FEMS Engine Houses And Facilities

The District of Columbia Department of General Services (DGS) is seeking a qualified General Contractor to replace and install Generator Systems and Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) Systems at various FEMS Engine Houses in Washington, DC. The project includes preparing and submitting shop drawings, equipment data, and supporting documentation, securing required permits, performing construction activities, and conducting field verification of existing site conditions. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to deliver complete and fully operational systems. The project also includes removing and disposing of existing generators and associated equipment, furnishing and installing new generator systems, and providing training on operation, preventative maintenance, and seasonal start-up and break-down of equipment. Some key points to consider: • The Contractor shall develop shop drawings and related documentation necessary to obtain required permits and installation. • The Contractor shall secure all required building, electrical, plumbing, and public space permits from the appropriate District agencies. • The Contractor shall conduct field verification of existing site conditions prior to installation and report any discrepancies to DGS. • The Contractor shall provide a project schedule in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project format showing permit, procurement, and installation milestones. • The Contractor shall provide comprehensive operations and maintenance reports at completion of generator installation process.
