Description
The Federal Prison Industries (FPI) is seeking information from potential suppliers for the purchase of fabricated metal products, specifically toolboxes. The toolboxes will be used by UNICOR inmate workers to upfit vehicles to sell to the Federal Government. The FPI is looking to enter into a three-year agreement with a supplier. The delivery locations for the toolboxes are FCI Bastrop, TX, FCI La Tuna, TX, and FCI Victorville, CA. The estimated quantities for the three-year period are 700 units for Bastrop, 100 units for La Tuna, and 205 units for Victorville.
The objectives of this RFI are to collaborate with industry on how to structure the Request for Proposal (RFP) to ensure greater market awareness and participation by relevant and capable suppliers, and to expand the vendor list for the toolboxes to domestic vendors that are small businesses.
Some of the key information that the FPI is seeking from potential suppliers includes company background information, interest in participating in the RFI/RFP process, availability of the toolboxes from a domestic source, and registration as a small business in SAM.
