Description
The Lakewood Board of Education is seeking a qualified transportation contractor to provide full‑time student‑transportation services—including regular, special‑education, and charter routes—for the 2026‑2027 school year. The contractor must operate only the designated routes, supply qualified drivers (CDL with P & S endorsements) and aides, maintain a 24‑hour dispatch center, and equip each bus with required safety and communications equipment (GPS, DVR, child‑alert system, etc.). All required insurance, bonding, and extensive compliance documentation must be submitted with the sealed bid. The contract runs from July 1 2026 (or September 1 2026 for later‑starting routes) through June 30 2027, with monthly payments commencing in October 2026.
• Provide full‑time bus service for Lakewood public, special‑education, and charter students, following detailed route sheets and school calendar.
• Supply drivers, aides, and a fleet of compliant school buses (year ≥ 2017, equipped with radios, GPS, DVR, child‑restraint systems, etc.).
