SafeCare Colorado Site Funding

The Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) is seeking proposals from organizations to operate SafeCare Colorado sites during State Fiscal Year 2027. SafeCare Colorado is a flexible, free, and voluntary support program for parents and caregivers with children from birth to age five to promote health and safety. The program provides direct skills training to parents and caregivers in three topic areas: home safety, child health, and parent-child interaction. The selected organizations will be responsible for implementing the program, recruiting participants, and providing services to at-risk families. The contract term is expected to be from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, with the possibility of renewal for up to four additional one-year periods. • The program will serve families with children aged five and younger in Colorado. • The selected organizations will be responsible for providing services to at-risk families, including those with a history of child abuse or neglect. • The program will be evaluated by the Social Work Research Center (SWRC) at Colorado State University (CSU). • The selected organizations will be required to provide quarterly progress reports and participate in continuous quality improvement and evaluation activities. • The contract will be cost-reimbursement, and the selected organizations will be required to submit a detailed budget and provide documentation of expenses.
