RFP Storage Project

The Sandusky Community Schools is seeking a contractor to build a storage building. The project includes the construction of a new accessory storage structure with separate units and access for different departments. The building will be unheated with no plumbing, and the electrical scope will be limited to exterior outlets and new lighting fixtures. The project also includes minor site work, but civil engineering is not included. The contractor will be responsible for coordinating with the owner and architect to complete the project. The project must comply with all applicable codes and regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Michigan Building Code. Key features of the project include: * A new storage building with 12 units * Each unit will have a manual roll-up door with a lockable hasp on the exterior * The building will have a standing seam metal roof with snow guards * The exterior walls will be constructed with corrugated metal panels * The interior walls will be constructed with 2x6 wood studs and 5/8" plywood sheathing * The floor will be a 4" concrete slab reinforced with 6x6-W1.4xW1.4 W.W.F. * The project includes a critical path construction schedule to be submitted by the contractor within 5 days after execution of the owner-contractor agreement * The contractor will be responsible for coordinating with the owner and architect to complete the project * The project must comply with all applicable codes and regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Michigan Building Code * The contractor will be responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and approvals * The contractor will be responsible for coordinating with the owner to schedule inspections and testing Some of the key requirements for the contractor include: * The contractor must visit the project site before submitting a bid * The contractor must verify and acknowledge that a site visit was performed and that the existing conditions in which the work is to be performed are understood by the contractor * The contractor must submit a critical path construction schedule within 5 days after execution of the owner-contractor agreement * The contractor must coordinate with the owner and architect to complete the project * The contractor must comply with all applicable codes and regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Michigan Building Code
