The East Orange Board of Education’s School Food Authority is seeking a qualified Food Service Management Company (FSMC) to operate all school‑nutrition programs for the 2026‑2027 school year on a cost‑reimbursable basis. The contract covers the National School Lunch Program, Breakfast, After‑School Snacks, Community Eligibility, Summer Food Service (mandatory), and optional CACFP, plus ancillary services such as catering, vending (if later added), and nutrition education. The FSMC must provide full‑service management—including menu development, procurement, staffing (management and hourly), equipment acquisition, compliance reporting, and guarantee options (loss, breakeven, or return). The award will be based on a weighted scoring rubric emphasizing total cost, guaranteed return, capability, management team, program quality, and transition planning. The initial term runs from July 1 2026 to June 30 2027 with up to four one‑year renewal options.
• Manage all K‑12 food‑service programs (NSLP, SBP, ASSP, CEP, SFSP, optional CACFP) across 21 schools serving ~8,700 students and ~1,200 staff.
• Provide full staffing (on‑site director, chef manager, registered dietitian, assistants, cooks, drivers, etc.) and may purchase equipment on a resale basis.
• Submit monthly invoices and operating statements; guarantee financial performance via one of four options (no guarantee, loss, breakeven, return).
• Required pre‑proposal conference/site tour on 30 Mar 2026, questions due 02 Apr 2026, final proposals due 14 Apr 2026.
