Dental Administration Services

Johnson County is seeking a vendor to provide dental administration services for its employees. The contract will be for an initial three-year term, with the option to renew for three additional one-year periods. The vendor must have experience with administering an ASO dental plan and provide a dedicated service unit. The County is looking for a long-term relationship with a carrier or third-party administrator and is requesting a six-year guarantee as part of this RFP. The scope of services includes administrative flexibility, exemplary customer service, rate competitiveness, and competitive network access. • The County has an overall cost share of 80% employer paid with 20% employee for dental costs. • The County currently offers two networks offered by DDKS: both the PPO and Premier networks. • The current vendor provides a Wellness Fund the County uses to promote preventive oral care. • Eligibility is sent weekly through secured data transfers. • The current vendor has the ability to provide and benchmark different utilization statistics by demographics. • The current vendor provides a designated service unit/staff and eligibility person. The proposal guidelines include quoting matching current plan designs, detailing any differences between the current dental plan and the proposed plan, and including any enhancements and/or incentive programs. All costs should be net of commissions, and the vendor must provide requested information, including a census, experience reports, and a proposed summary of dental plan benefits.
