Description

The NASA Ames Research Center is seeking a Custom OptoMech (C-OM) with Dual-Comb Spectroscopy (DCS) laser system for the COSmIC Lab. The system should have specific technical specifications, including a comb mode spacing of 250 MHz, a center wavelength of 1560 nm, and an average power of more than 10 mW. The system will be used to provide high accuracy absorption data for key exoplanetary molecules in the 1-2 um region. The contractor should have experience in frequency combs and be able to provide a reliable and user-friendly system. Key features of the system include: • Comb Mode Spacing: 250 MHz • Center Wavelength: 1560 nm • Average Power: >10 mW • Stability (Out-of-loop comb-comb comparison) • Accuracy (Out-of-loop comb-comb comparison) The delivery of the system is needed as soon as possible.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate because the document does not provide a specific budget or price range. However, based on the technical specifications and the fact that it is a custom laboratory instrument, the budget could be in the range of $100,000 to $500,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the system is a high-end laboratory instrument with advanced features and capabilities. The actual budget could be higher or lower, depending on the specific requirements and the contractor's pricing. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the system, the materials and components used, and the labor costs associated with designing and manufacturing the system.
