Tree Watering Services

The City of Des Moines Forestry Division is soliciting bids for contracted tree watering services throughout Des Moines, Iowa. The scope includes watering approximately 200 to 300 trees weekly throughout the 2026 growing season (April–October), for a maximum of 27 weeks per year. The selected contractor will be required to use an electronic device to access tree location data and to record watering progress on a weekly basis. The contractor will provide supplemental watering to two categories of newly planted trees: Standard Landscape Trees (1–3-inch caliper) and Seedlings/Saplings (1–4 feet in height). • The contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, materials, water, tools, electronic devices, and supervision to perform tree watering as described. • The contractor must maintain a watering log to keep track of each tree watered per week. • The contractor must follow all applicable laws when performing any work pursuant to the contract. • The contractor must operate safely when watering trees located in the cemeteries. • The contractor will establish a “rolling” work zone using the proper signage as required by IDOT (where applicable) and must remove that signage from the work site at the end of the workday once work activity has ceased.
