COMMUNICATIONS CABLE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE SERVICES

The City of Seattle is seeking bids from qualified vendors to provide communications cabling, installation, testing, maintenance, administration, and repairs to new and previously installed Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) and other voice, data, or video systems. The scope of work includes low voltage communications cabling, such as fiber optic cable, coaxial cable, and copper twisted pair cable. The City is looking for vendors to provide services for inside and outside plant cabling, including riser, distribution, and station cabling installations, as well as aerial and underground cabling for inter-building connectivity. The contract will be for one year with six optional one-year extensions. Some key requirements include: • Providing a telephone service or standard order desk to receive calls from City departments • Maintaining adequate inventory and providing response times for non-emergency and emergency requests • Providing warranty for materials and workmanship • Complying with codes and standards, such as the Washington State Building Code and National Electric Code • Providing as-built drawings and testing documentation • Labeling and coding of cables and equipment • Providing background checks for workers performing work under the contract The City is looking for vendors who can provide high-quality services, meet the minimum qualifications, and comply with the terms and conditions of the contract.
