Fund Attorney

The Ocean County Municipal Joint Insurance Fund is seeking a Fund Attorney to provide legal services for a period of three years, commencing on January 1, 2026. The successful candidate will provide legal advice to the Fund's Executive Committee and/or Executive Director/Administrator, recommend attorneys to handle claims, and monitor the work of such attorneys. The candidate will also provide reports to the Fund's Executive Committee on legal matters, assist in the analysis of claims, and coordinate the handling of litigated claims. The Fund Attorney will be required to have experience in providing legal leadership to joint insurance funds or self-insured governmental entities, and must demonstrate knowledge of legal matters pertaining to the management of a governmental entity, regulations of the Department of Banking and Insurance, and the Open Public Records Act. • The contract will be awarded through a Fair and Open process, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.4 et seq. and the competitive contracting process, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4.1 et seq. • The Fund Attorney will be required to provide a fee proposal for the 2026 fund year, and may also provide a fee proposal for the 2027 and 2028 fund years. • The Fund Attorney will be required to maintain all documentation related to the services provided for a period of five years from the date of final payment. • The Fund Attorney will be required to provide evidence of compliance with Cyber Insurance and Cyber Risk Control. • The Fund Attorney will be required to provide a commitment for Banking Controls.
