KamTek, Inc. (KTI) Freezer Services

The DHA Contracting Activity (DHACA) Fort Detrick intends to award a sole source contract to KamTek, Inc. (KTI) for freezer services. The contract requires 24-hour monitoring and storage of two IHD-owned and one rented upright, -80⁰C (ultralow) freezers. The freezers contain plasma, saliva, and serum samples related to investigations of rare adverse events following immunizations. KTI is the only vendor capable of meeting all requirements to ensure the integrity of these samples. The contract has a base period and four option periods, each lasting one year. • The contract requires comprehensive, 24/7 monitoring through the Rees Scientific Monitoring System. • The contract requires a robust security system that monitors environmental conditions, such as temperature and water levels, and provides standby generator power during outages. • The contract requires efficient and minimal-notice access to the freezers. • The contract requires the vendor to provide bench space for inventory management, quality control, and sample verification.
