The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is seeking qualified contractors to provide in‑person American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter services for the Board of Parole Hearings across multiple correctional facilities throughout the state. The work is limited to secondary and tertiary hearing tiers and must be performed on‑site at the listed institutions. Contractors must supply both hearing and deaf interpreters who hold appropriate certifications (RID, NAD, BEI, etc.) and meet security, health (TB testing), and insurance requirements. Service delivery includes rapid response times to board requests, on‑site presence for the full day, rotation to mitigate interpreter fatigue, and documentation for each proceeding. The contract is a one‑year term ending 30 June 2027, with a competitive “lowest responsible bidder” award process.
• Provide on‑site ASL interpretation for a variety of board proceedings (parole hearings, legal visits, mental‑health hearings, etc.).
• Supply certified Hearing Interpreters (HI) and Deaf Interpreters (DI) for any CDCR institution listed in Exhibit A‑1.
• Meet strict response‑time windows, security clearances, TB testing, and insurance mandates; bill monthly in arrears.
