Station Coos Bay Diesel Generator Replacement

The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking a contractor to replace the existing 40 kW, 120V/240V, three-phase standby diesel generator system at Station Coos Bay with a new generator system of equivalent specifications. The work includes upgrading the associated Automatic Bypass Transfer Switch (ABT) to match the new generator capacity, ensuring proper exhaust and ventilation, and renewing the fuel system piping and accessories as required. The contractor will be responsible for providing all personnel, equipment, tools, transportation, supervision, and other items and services necessary to remove and replace the existing diesel generator. Some key aspects of the project include: • Removal and disposal of the existing generator and ABT • Installation of a new generator and ABT assembly • Connection of the new generator to existing electrical wiring • Installation of new exhaust piping and ventilation system • Testing and commissioning of the new generator system • Provision of training to facility staff on generator operation and maintenance The contractor must ensure that the new generator assembly does not exceed 34 ¾” in width to fit through the access doorway.
