Nitrate Digitization Services

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a vendor to provide nitrate digitization services for their library's collection. The vendor will be responsible for digitizing nitrate negatives, storing them temporarily, and destroying the originals. The contract will have an initial term of one year, with the option to renew for up to two additional one-year terms. The vendor must have recent experience with similar projects and provide sample scans as part of their response. • The project involves digitizing approximately 3,003 nitrate negatives and 5,593 enclosures. • The vendor must provide a detailed process description, including packing and shipping, digitization, and destruction of originals. • The vendor must also provide pricing information, including costs for shipping, digitization, and temporary storage and destruction of originals. • The university requires the vendor to have a good understanding of the university's business requirements and internal operational culture. • The vendor must also comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to background checks and confidentiality.
