S222--Grease Trap Cleaning and Maintenance Grand Junction VA Medical Center

The Grand Junction VA Medical Center is seeking a contractor to provide grease trap cleaning and maintenance services. The contractor will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the grease traps, including removing grease and debris, and ensuring that the traps are functioning properly. The contractor will also be required to provide service stickers with company name and contact information, technician name or ID, date of last service, and next recommended service date. The contractor must use a self-contained system within the building and not drag hoses through the building. The contractor must also wear hair nets in the kitchen and use non-abrasive cleaners and EPA-registered hospital disinfectants. The contractor will be permitted to use the stairwell or service elevator, but not exclusively. The contractor must hydro jet any inlet or outlet pipes as needed and perform enzyme treatments in the grease traps. • The contractor must provide a licensed and locally approved service provider to manage the regular removal, cleaning, and disposal of fats, oil, and grease. • The contractor must ensure that the grease interceptor is cleaned regularly to maintain efficient operation. • The contractor must follow the recommended best management practices for food service establishments, including putting signs in the kitchen, not pouring oil or grease down the drain, and scraping food waste from pots and pans into a garbage bin. • The contractor must use a recycling service for used cooking oil and separate out food waste for delivery to a centralized composting site.
