Description
The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking qualified contractors to upgrade the fuel‑dispenser system at the Julian Hinds Pumping Plant in Desert Center. The work includes demolition of existing fuel‑island structures, installation of new diesel and gasoline pumps, a Gasboy AtlasX mechanical dispenser, leak detectors, vapor‑recovery equipment, electrical conduit and wiring, and abatement of identified asbestos‑containing siding and lead‑based paint. The contractor must hold a California A‑class or C‑61/D‑40 license, possess the required ASB (asbestos) certification or subcontractor, and provide a certified Gasboy AtlasX dispenser installer. A minimum of 25 % of the total contract value must be subcontracted to Small Business Enterprises or Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises. The bid is electronic, with a mandatory pre‑bid conference on April 23 2026 and a submission deadline of May 19 2026.
