The National Park Service intends to award a single source justified cooperative agreement to the National Symphony Orchestra Association for the National Symphony Orchestra Capitol Concerts Series. The project aims to sponsor annually a series of no more than four concerts upon the United States Capitol Grounds, free to the public. The goals of the project include increasing public awareness, knowledge, and support for historic preservation and stewardship of the nation's natural, cultural, and historical heritage. The project will include a Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day performance on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. Some key responsibilities of the recipient include carrying out the statement of work, using funds provided by the NPS to pay for the Orchestra's services and operational costs, and assuming responsibility for producing the Labor Day concert. The NPS will provide funds, arrange for performance service and operational expenses, and provide sound amplification required for the Labor Day concerts.
