Commercial/Specialty Vehicle and Safety Training

The City of Santa Monica is seeking a qualified firm to provide vehicle-specific safety training services to the City's commercial/specialty vehicle operators. The training services will include one-on-one driver assessments, remedial training, and certification training for vehicles such as forklifts and aerial lifts. The selected firm will work with the City's Safety Administrator to develop an annual safety training curriculum and provide approximately 120 training sessions annually. The contract term is for five years. Key aspects of the job include: • Providing one-on-one driver trainings to 100 commercial/specialty vehicle drivers • Conducting remedial training for drivers who have been involved in a significant preventable vehicle accident • Developing an annual safety training curriculum covering DMV/DOT driver safety training and Cal-OSHA required safety training • Providing forklift and aerial lift training • Ensuring flexible scheduling to accommodate the City's departmental operations
