Notice of Intent to Sole Source for Isothermal Titration Calorimeter

The National Institute of Standards and Technology intends to procure an isothermal titration calorimeter on a sole source basis with TA Instruments-Waters, L.L.C. The equipment will be used for the application of ion sequestration as part of critical mineral recovery. The contractor shall deliver a quantity of one (1) Isothermal Titration Calorimetry Instrument inclusive of a maintenance and support plan, installation, training, 12-month warranty, and FOB Destination delivery terms. • The instrument must have a thermostat range of 15 degrees C to 80 degrees C and long-term stability of ± 0.0001 degrees C in 24 hours at 25 degrees C. • The calorimeter heat flow sensing must have a short term noise less than ± 10 nW and precision of ± 300 nW or lower. • The injection and stirring system must have a minimum injection volume below 10 microliters and a syringe capacity of 100 microliters or larger. • The software must provide complete control of data acquisition and analysis, real-time plotting and visualization of temperature, injection volume, measured heat flow, and analysis capabilities.
