Description

The United States Army Health Contracting Activity (USAHCA) Medical Readiness Contracting Office-West (MRCO-W) is conducting market research to identify sources capable of providing pupilometers for Brooke Army Medical Center. The pupilometers must adhere to the list of Salient Characteristics, which includes minimum clinical performance requirements such as accurate and precise measurements of pupil size, reaction time to light, and resistance to common sources of measurement error. Interested sources should submit a response with their organization's name, CAGE code, address, point of contact, phone number, and e-mail address. The response should also confirm the offeror's ability to provide eighteen pupilometers that meet the Salient Characteristics. • The pupilometers must have accurate and precise measurements of pupil size, typically within a +-0.2mm tolerance. • The pupilometers must have a reaction time to light expected response time to be within 0.5 seconds. • The pupilometers must be able to consistently measure pupil size and response over multiple readings, ensuring reproducibility of data. • The pupilometers must be resistant to common sources of measurement error or artifact, such as motion, ambient lighting conditions, and patient eye movement.

Budget estimate

$90,000 – $360,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate because the document does not provide any pricing information. However, based on the fact that the US Army is seeking 18 pupilometers, the budget could be substantial. The cost of medical equipment can vary widely, but a rough estimate for a single pupilometer could be in the range of $5,000 to $20,000. Therefore, the total budget for 18 pupilometers could be in the range of $90,000 to $360,000. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the pupilometers, the materials used, and the manufacturing process.
