Description
The City of Parkersburg is seeking a qualified professional engineer (or engineering firm) to serve as its temporary City Engineer. The contractor will provide advisory services, design and construction oversight, inspection and certification of contractor work, permitting supervision, records management, technical review, and coordination with city staff, contractors, and regulatory agencies. The engagement is on an as‑needed basis with no fixed term, and the City will negotiate fees after evaluating Statements of Qualifications.
• Provide engineering advice to Mayor, Council, and city agencies.
• Design, construct, maintain, and improve city infrastructure and public works.
• Inspect, certify, and oversee contractor work prior to payment.
• Supervise building‑related permits and inspections, manage engineering records, and coordinate with stakeholders.
