Description
The Department of Retirement Systems (DRS) seeks a qualified vendor to serve as its IRS e‑File Tax Reporting Support provider. The contractor will be responsible for ingesting DRS and Record Keeper tax‑return files, validating them, converting them to the IRS‑required A2A/XML formats, submitting the files through the IRS e‑filing portal, handling reject notices, and delivering comprehensive reporting while meeting strict performance and security standards.
• Ingest flat‑file (SFTP or upload) and XML files, perform read‑only validation, and flag any structural errors.
• Maintain active IRS e‑file provider status, submit bulk information‑return files (1099‑R, 1042‑S) via the FIRE/IRIS system, and provide transmission confirmations within 1 business day.
• Manage reject notices, produce detailed error summaries, and resubmit corrected files only after DRS approval; retain audit trails for at least 7 years.
• Provide regular reporting (submission confirmations, annual summary, and any IRS system changes) and participate in annual planning meetings.
• Comply with stringent security requirements (encrypted storage, MFA, incident reporting within 24 hours) and ensure 99.5 % system uptime during filing seasons.
