Description

The Veterans Health Administration’s Wilkes‑Barre Medical Center requires a fully equipped, OEM‑maintained mobile MRI trailer (Siemens Magnetom Aera, 1.5 Tesla) for an interim period of roughly three months, with the possibility of extending the lease. The contractor must provide the trailer, all necessary accessories, on‑site installation, training for VA technologists, 24/7 technical support, and complete data‑transfer capabilities to the VA network. The VA will staff the unit, handle patient scheduling, and provide the site dock; the contractor is responsible for delivery, set‑up, preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and removal at contract end. Invoicing is on receipt of services; the contract is awarded on a full‑and‑open competitive basis via an RFQ.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $1,500,000

The contract is for a full‑service lease of a high‑end 1.5 Tesla mobile MRI system, including delivery, set‑up, OEM maintenance, training, and data‑transfer support. Comparable commercial leases for similar mobile MRI units range from $150,000 to $500,000 per month depending on configuration, service level, and geographic location. Assuming a mid‑range rate of $300,000 per month for a three‑month period yields an estimated contract value of roughly $900,000. Adding optional extensions, training, and ancillary services could push the total toward $1.2 million. Therefore a reasonable budget range is estimated between $500,000 (minimum if a shorter term or reduced service package is negotiated) and $1,500,000 (maximum if extensions and full OEM support are required).
