Combined Sources Sought Notice and Notice of Intent to Sole Source for Piezoelectric Z-stage Upgrade for Optical Microscope

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting market research to identify potential sources of commercial products/services that can provide a piezoelectric z-stage upgrade for an optical microscope. The upgrade should integrate with the existing x-y stage of a Zeiss Axio Observer 7 optical microscope, be controlled by Zeiss Zen microscope control software, have a travel range in z of 500 micrometers or more, and have a resolution of 1 nm or less. The procurement is for a single unit. • The upgrade should have a reproducibility of +/- 5 nm or less • The upgrade should include a stage insert for sample mounting • The equipment should be manufactured in the United States, or if not, the country of manufacture should be specified • The vendor should provide information on customization options, standard terms and conditions of sale, and any available services such as installation, training, and equipment maintenance.
