Rental of a High-Resolution Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer using iodide reagent ionization (I-CIMS)

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking to rent a high-resolution time-of-flight mass spectrometer using iodide reagent ionization (I-CIMS) from Aerodyne Research Inc. The rental period will be from November 2, 2026, to December 21, 2026. The I-CIMS will be used to replicate the methodology used in the 2022 CASA campaign in a new study of a second test house to measure gaseous contaminants from Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) fire smoke. The key requirements for the I-CIMS include its proprietary capabilities and user processes, which are only available from Aerodyne. • The I-CIMS must be able to measure gaseous contaminants from WUI fire smoke. • The I-CIMS must have the same exact capabilities and user processes as the one used in the prior study. • The rental period will be from November 2, 2026, to December 21, 2026. • The I-CIMS will be used to collect data for providing guidance and development of industry standards for smoke contamination by WUI fires.
