The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) is seeking a certified health information exchange to collect and transmit non-fatal overdose data from emergency departments. The selected contractor will be responsible for receiving non-fatal overdose individual encounters from hospital emergency departments, collecting and curating the required data fields, and transmitting the data to ODH on a daily basis. The contractor must have existing data-sharing connections and agreements with emergency departments in Ohio and be able to receive non-fatal drug overdose individual encounters from hospital emergency departments. The project's goal is to use the collected data to prevent drug overdoses by allowing prescribing providers to see a patient's overdose history and directing statewide policies and targeted actions. Key features of the project include: • Receiving non-fatal overdose individual encounters from hospital emergency departments • Collecting and curating the required data fields • Transmitting the data to ODH on a daily basis • Submitting a monthly transmission of cases within 72 hours after the end of the month • Establishing a file-sharing connection to transmit non-fatal overdose cases to ODH
