The City of Los Angeles' Los Angeles Sanitation and Environment (LASAN) is soliciting proposals from pre-qualified on-call consultants for the Fork-to-Fuel Initiative. The initiative aims to collect brown grease from food service establishments (FSEs) and provide it to green energy suppliers. The consultant will be responsible for installing automatic grease removal devices (AGRDs), collecting and transporting the brown grease, and providing outreach and education to FSEs. The project is expected to last 18 months, and the consultant will be required to submit a proposal that includes a cover letter, table of contents, and other specified documents. The proposal must also include a comparison analysis of grease trap vs. AGRD characteristics.
• The consultant must handle the collection, storage, and shipping of the drums.
• The cost of the drums/liners is included in the $417k budget.
• The consultant will need to identify other local energy suppliers/processors.
• The TOS ceiling includes AGRD procurement and grease hauling.
• The grease collected will be provided to a green energy supplier.
• There are no outside funding sources.
• The consultant will need to build the stakeholder list from scratch.
• Language access requirements will include English, Spanish, Chinese, and Korean.
• The consultant will need to provide upgraded equipment at no cost to the FSE as an incentive to switch from their existing grease trap providers to the automated systems.
